Florian Sander (a.k.a. Flo) is a serial entrepreneur and one of the region’s most creative and innovative minds in the hospitality industry. Flo has designed and built winning concepts such as KeSa House, Pasta Bar, CRAFT™, as well as the award-winning “Employees Only”. Founded in 2009 as a hospitality consultancy focusing on research and feasibility, iThink Consulting Group has evolved into designing turn-key hospitality solutions, providing end-to-end services for new projects from research through to concept development, interior design, project management and marketing.
Before setting up his own hospitality business, Flo was the Vice President and Head of Hospitality, Asia ex-Japan at Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC, prior to which he was the Director of Food and Beverages for the esteemed Hong Kong Jockey Club, from 2004 until 2007. At the Hong Kong Jockey Club, Flo also spearheaded the extensive renovation projects of the Happy Valley and Sha Tin racecourses and was the Chairman of the Fine Wine Purchasing Group where he oversaw a wine cellar of over 30,000 bottles. Early in his career, Flo developed both La Scala (2002) and Cy’an (2003), restaurants in Bangkok which have received worldwide acclaim and have continually been awarded to be amongst Thailand’s best restaurants and hot spots.
Flo obtained a BoS in International Hospitality Management with honours from the École Hôtelière de Lausanne in 2001 and has been a member of the executive committee of the École Hôtelière de Lausanne Alumni Association since 2005 in Hong Kong where he has also been an advisory board member of the Asian University for Women (AUW) charity committee since 2009. In 2017 he was invited to join the Soho House Membership Advisory Committee in Singapore. He has recently completed an Executive MBA with distinction with HEC Paris.
